INVESTIGATION OF THE USE OF WALNUT SHELLS AS A NATURAL BIOSORBENT FOR ZINC REMOVAL

Heavy metal contamination is a primary concern worldwide and it discharged from the industrial wastewater to large amount of heavy receiving environments. In recent years, effective use agricultural by-products definitely major challenge in waste management. The fact that residues are more easily obtained cheaper than commercial adsorbents makes attractive. this study, removal zinc using natural thermally modified (biochar) walnut shells as biosorbent was investigated. It tried remove aqueous solutions with different concentrations by at rates. effects initial concentration, contact time, adsorbent dosage. addition, adsorption isotherms kinetics were also studied. With form shell, up 98% efficiency obtained. Also, observed be consistent pseudo-second Freundlich isotherm. results showed shell potential adsorbent. zinc, onto found fit tests for zinc.
